Below are some of the most commonly asked questions that we receive about the event.

About The Show

A: Pumpkins After Dark is Canada’s largest fall and Halloween festival. This all-ages outdoor event is a celebration of all things Halloween with over 6,000+ hand carved pumpkins that are built into large pumpkin art installations. The event also features live pumpkin carving demonstrations, live entertainment, food trucks with fall treats & sweets, photo ops, and much more! Discover your Halloween tradition this fall at one of our locations.

A: We use a combination of synthetic and organic pumpkins throughout the event. It has taken our team years to perfect our synthetic pumpkin recipe that allows us to carve and create pumpkins that will last and perform just like the organic ones. Every pumpkin is hand-carved by Canadian artists, using 2D and 3D techniques. Our large installations are made of synthetic pumpkins (a unique low density foam) to mimic the texture and density of an organic pumpkin. Since these pumpkins won’t rot, our artists can design and build larger, even more impressive displays.

A: Our creative team works year-round designing, carving and building the pumpkin displays. It takes approximately 11 months to create one show.
